The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf  - Short Story for Kids 

Once upon a time, a shepherd boy tended to a flock of sheep in a village. Every day, he would lead the herd to the top of a hill and bring them back by evening.

One day, feeling bored, he decided to have some fun. He shouted, "Wolf! Wolf! Help!" The farmers in the nearby area heard his cries for help. Soon, all the villagers rushed to the top of the hill to save the sheep. When they arrived, they found no signs of a wolf.

One of the farmers asked the boy, "Weren't you the one who cried for help?" The boy laughed and replied, "There's no wolf here. It was just a joke! Ha! Ha! Ha!"

The next day, the boy played the same trick again, which annoyed the farmers. A few days later, a wolf appeared for real. 

The shepherd boy shouted for help, but this time, no one came. Everyone believed that he was playing another childish joke.
